Now playing: Serena Williams: ‘It’s hard to get out of a bad mindset’After winning the US Open in 2013, Serena became the first woman to win five Grand Slams in a single year, and she’s now back at it again, this time as the reigning women’s tennis champion.
In her post-match interview with BBC Sport, Serene spoke of the pressure she’s felt as she prepares for the Wimbledon final on Sunday.
“It’s very difficult,” she said.
“But it’s been very important for me, to get back to the top and get ready for this match.”
You get to be so close to winning the title but it’s so tough to win a championship like this.
I think it’s really important for a player to get in the moment, and be confident, because you can’t do too much.
“The only thing that I can do is to keep working and keep on training and be patient, and it will be up to me.”
I think that if I keep working hard, if I focus and I stay focused, then I can really bring my game to the level that I want.
“Serena Williams is back in action at Wimbledon after missing out on the final on the US tourA year after Serena lost to Maria Sharapova, she is now back in the action for the third time in four years at Wimsey.”
For me it’s about getting to the point where I can take that game to another level,” she explained.”
So it’s a huge game, and I think that’s what we’ve been doing in terms of training.
“That’s what it’s all about for me now, and that’s all we can do, to be ready for that final.”

“Well, I’ll just say that I don’t know,” she admitted.
“My focus is to be on this match, which is Wimbledon, and this is the first match that I’ve ever played in.”
“It feels good.
I can feel it right now, it feels like it’s going to be a really good game, a really exciting game, but it also means I have to be very calm, to not worry too much, to just focus on this one match.”
Shelley Williams, the sister of the former world number one, also spoke to BBC Sport about Serena’s future in tennis, but the topic of her sister being in the final has been left to her to ponder.
“Maybe it’s not something that I should be thinking about,” Shelley said.
“Maybe she should just focus more on her tennis.”
Sebastian Coe, who played with Serena when she was playing for the US team at the 2004 Olympics, has also been outspoken about his feelings about the Australian tennis star.
“She’s been a great ambassador for the game,” he said.
But the younger Coe also has some words of advice for Serena.
“Just go out there and play your game, because she will not be the one to stop you.”
