A Minecraft developer has admitted he used a server icon to mark the server as unavailable during a maintenance, adding that the developer was unaware of the error.
The developer, who goes by the name “bob”, posted a screenshot of his login screen to Reddit on Saturday morning.
The screenshot shows an empty server icon on the right side of the screen, alongside a Minecraft server icon.
He said he was trying to login to a server that wasn’t accessible, when he accidentally clicked on the server icon and the Minecraft launcher showed an error message: “Sorry, Minecraft Server doesn’t exist.”
He added that he had been using the Minecraft Launcher on his Mac and had not been aware of the issue until the error message was shown.
“The Minecraft Launcher does not have an account for a specific server,” he wrote.
“So I just opened it up and it just shows the server that doesn’t even exist, with an empty icon.”
My error message has since been corrected.
Sorry if this has been confusing.
“The developer also pointed out that he could have simply opened the Minecraft desktop application and opened the server tab.
